Distrust & Disparities: Dismantling Black Health Disparities
On the Distrust & Disparities podcast we discuss health disparities that disproportionately affect Black women and Black families. We examine current and historical cases of medical injustices within the American healthcare system. And we explore the unique barriers and challenges Black people encounter while navigating this system.
It's no secret that the American healthcare system leaves many people feeling unseen and unheard. Research shows that Black people and other ethnic minorities receive significantly lower qualities of healthcare than white people, even when age, income, insurance status, and severity of conditions are comparable.
We also amplify organizations and individuals working to dismantle racist health practices and systems to improve health outcomes for marginalized communities.
Distrust & Disparities: Dismantling Black Health Disparities is hosted by Jasmyn Moore, a registered nurse, and co-hosted by Camille White, a health advocate.
